Anyone who has a minimal interest in antique furniture will know that there are many types of furniture to choose from. If you are seriously considering investing in antiques as a source of profit then you really should do your research. A specific kind of antique that you should look into is antique Paine furniture.

Antique Paine furniture was made by the Paine company and has a number of unique characteristics that make it a beautiful addition to any home. It was made in Boston in the late 1800s and is highly sought after today.

Antique Paine furniture is more valuable than a lot of other antique furniture types purely because it is in demand. Paine himself was a master craftsman and made the most beautiful furniture. It is steadfast, reliable and still serviceable over a hundred years on. Although your initial outlay can be quite large, you would be comforted to know that it actually becomes more and more valuable as the years go on so a piece in good condition can actually double in price within the space of a few years.

Antique Paine furniture can be obtained for any given room in a house. The family business made patio, dining room, bedroom and living room furniture amongst other items and so it is viable that you could fill your home with antique Paine furniture. It would certainly be a different and expensive theme, but a theme nevertheless!

It is worth taking time over the antique Paine furniture pieces that you will eventually choose because they will prove to be focal points of your home. They automatically attract attention because of their gorgeous colour and fantastic design. You should exercise patience if you on a limited budget because there may be several items that take your eye when you can only afford one or two.

Antique Paine furniture is extremely valuable so it may be worth assessing the value independently from the store that you plan to make a purchase from, just to double check that the value is actually as advertised. You should also check for any imperfections, as just one would significantly lower its value. A given price should reflect the condition and age of each individual antique Paine furniture piece so beware of any problems before handing over cash.

Buying any antique furniture is an investment today, whether you mean it to be or not. Antique Paine furniture is one of the types of antique that is worth ever penny. Beautiful and powerful, it can fit into any home and enhance it significantly with few problems. Have patience, buy the right piece and make the most out of it!

Working from home on the internet provides users with the convenience and job security they require. A home job that is done on the internet can be what you need to get you started on a career path that will lead to job satisfaction and success in every sense of the word. Building a successful online business takes time, hard work and some investment capital, though more time investment may remove the need for capital investment. The good thing about online businesses is that anybody can develop one and be a success in it without any qualification or heavy capital investment. An online job should be taken seriously if meaningful progress is to be made in good time. Online jobs are numerous and can be grouped into three categories which include; skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled jobs.

Skilled jobs: basically, a skilled job is one that requires a certain level of skill and certification to accomplish. Skilled jobs are for individuals who have acquired a high level of expertise in order to be able to carry out the duties required of such tasking jobs. These jobs may only be given to those who have the qualifications and the much needed experience that such jobs require for effective and satisfactory results to be obtained. Performance for certain skilled jobs online is at a very high level based on the job description. Certifications for many skilled jobs are acquired offline by attending educational institutions. Some skilled jobs can also be learned and certification given online after a mandatory learning process and examination has been passed. Examples of some skilled job services that are provided for online customers include; web designing; website security; professional services such as stock brokering and ecommerce services; program writing and networking among others.

Semi-skilled jobs: these are jobs that may or may not require certification for one to be able to accomplish. Semi-skilled service providers may be required to have a certain level of qualification in some quarters but may not need to have any qualification in others. Most semi-skilled jobs can be learned and certification provided for those who have passed online. Examples of semi-skilled jobs online include search engine optimization, copywriting and secretarial skills among others.

Unskilled jobs: these are job descriptions that can be done by anyone without any prior certification. Most online jobs are in the unskilled category and you do not need any qualifications to become a service provider. The vast majority of service providers in the unskilled category learn these jobs and become experts by continuously providing their services to customers. This is the main reason why the internet is seen as a very good avenue to develop a viable business. Unskilled jobs require little or no income to start practicing and in a very short period, depending on your work rate, you can earn considerable amounts of money from them. Almost every internet business has a link with an unskilled job description which makes it possible for everyone to benefit from providing any kind of service on the internet. Examples of unskilled jobs that have their roots on the internet include article writing, link building, blogging, lead generation and social networking among others.

The internet is a user friendly environment that helps a lot of people all over the world develop certain basic skills and earn a substantial living. Whether your skilled, semi- skilled or unskilled, there is a place for you in the online business world.

Cruel Solitaire is an unusual solitaire game, that many people think has a low success rate. Careful planning will allow the advanced solitaire player to win more than 50% of the games they play though.

The trick to winning cruel solitaire is to know when to deal from the talon. When you

first start playing cruel solitaire, it seems like dealing from the talon randomly

shuffles the cards, but this is not the case. A deal from the talon just redeals the

cards in the same order they currently appear.

This allows an advanced player to have some knowledge of what will happen when

the talon deal is done… which vastly improves the chances of winning every game of

cruel solitaire that you play.

There are certain easy-to-learn patterns that help with this.

If all the stacks to the left of a stack have 4 cards in them before the redeal, then

after the redeal, the card that is on top will stay on top.

For example, suppose the first 3 stacks appear like this:

Stack-A: 4 Cards

Stack-B: 4 Cards

Stack-C: 5 Cards with a 5 of Diamonds on top.

All the stacks before Stack-C have 4 cards in them, so after a redeal, the 5 of

Diamonds will still be at the top of Stack-C.

This is the same no matter how many cards are in Stack-C. So if the stacks are like

Stack-A: 4 Cards

Stack-B: 4 Cards

Stack-C: 2 Cards with a 5 of Diamonds on top.

Then the 5 of Diamonds will still be on top of Stack-C after a talon redeal.

But if an earlier stack does not have 4 cards in it, then the card will NOT stay on top

after a redeal.

So if the stacks are like this:

Stack-A: 5 Cards

Stack-B: 4 Cards

Stack-C: 2 Cards with a 5 of Diamonds on top.

Then the 5 of Diamonds will NOT be on top of Stack-C after a redeal.

Knowing this pattern will give you much greater control over cruel solitaire, and

allows for some powerful strategies that will vastly increase your chances of

Because of the above pattern, it does not always make sense to move a card to the

talon at the first opportunity. Instead, you can keep the card, and just make sure

that you don’t put any extra cards in the stacks to the left of it.

This way, you can keep redealing, to expose new cards, and you will KNOW that the

card will always remain in play. Only when you can’t make any more moves should

you then move the card to the foundation.

This gives you the most opportunity to keep playing, without blocking play. And it

leads to a general procedure, that you can follow to win a lot more games of cruel

Here is a procedure that will help you to win cruel solitaire. It isn’t perfect, and you’ll

probably make your own alterations to it as you get better at the game, but it shows

how to carefully play cruel solitaire to avoid blockages.

A – Find the rightmost card that can go onto the talon.

B – Do all the moves to the right of that card that you can, starting with highest rank

C – Redeal

D – Go back to A

Once there are no more moves that can be made to the right of the card, then move

the card in the stack to the foundation, and then redeal, and go back to A.

If no cards can play, then order all the cards you can, starting with the highest rank

ones, and then redeal.

That’s it!

You can definitely tweak this procedure to make it better, but I’ve tried to keep it

simple here, and it should allow you to play cruel solitaire a lot better than before.

Have fun!

There are many different types of thermometer on the market. Whether you’re checking the temperature of food and drinks, monitoring room or outdoor temperatures at the workplace, choosing a thermometer for a child’s medical kit, or taking critically important industrial measurements, it’s vitally important to choose the thermometer(s) best suited to the job at hand.

In today’s market, more thermometers are used without firstly being checked for traceable accuracy, or suitability of purpose, yet the accuracy and suitability of your thermometer to its intended application could be the difference between passing and failing a health & safety audit, wasting a whole industrial process, or being correct the first time.

When you’re choosing a thermometer, it’s important to understand its associated application, temperature measurement range, resolution, accuracy, and the maintenance required to achieve repeatable measurements. Some applications will require you to achieve a much more accurate reading than others. You’ll also need to consider the environment in which the thermometer is used. In a professional environment, the accuracy of your reading will ultimately affect the credibility of your future measurements, and organisation as a whole.

So, let’s briefly consider the types of thermometer on the market, and their accredited application(s).

Traditional Thermometers (Spirit Filled)

Often the cheapest and most popular type of thermometer, these are ideal for use at home or in non-specialist environments where traceable accuracy is not required. They have a spirit level indication, are easy to read, and typically measure in both degrees C and degrees F. They can often be wall mounted or submerged in liquids, and require very little maintenance. These thermometers have variable measurement ranges, resolutions and accuracy.

Dual Sensor / Multiple Sensor Thermometers

Often used in a professional environment, these thermometers allow the simultaneous monitoring of two or more environments over both short and long periods of time. They are ideal for applications such as indoor and outdoor temperature comparisons, the monitoring of storage areas, and classroom maintenance. A package normally consists of a main display unit and external temperature sensors. Each external sensor reading is displayed on the main unit. The main unit can typically be wall or desk mounted, and traceable accuracy is recommended. These thermometers have variable measurement ranges, resolutions and accuracy.

Irreversible Temperature Labels

Temperature indicator labels are self-adhesive temperature proofing foils. They are ideal for use in processes where specific temperature values need to be achieved, such as sterilisation. They are also suitable for use where temperature values should not be exceeded, such as engine or bearing monitoring. They are a relatively cheap, yet effective way to achieve permanent records of accuracy. Each foil segment on a label is sensitive to a different temperature and when exposed to its rating will turn black. Each segment has both °C and °F temperature values. Each label is oil and water resistant, and the colour change is irreversible even after the object being measured cools down. After use, labels can be removed. These thermometers have variable measurement ranges, resolutions and accuracy.

Fixed & Wired Probe Thermometers

Fixed probe thermometers are designed to deliver instant temperature readings of foods, liquids and semi-solid samples via its fixed probe, which will be suitable for both immersion and penetration. They are ideal for use in the catering trade for hygiene testing, retail outlets, and laboratories. Being very easy to use and highly portable, probes will vary in size, material, and manoeuvrability. Wired probe thermometers are similar to fixed probe thermometers, the difference being that the probe is attached to the thermometer via a wire. This maximises utility without compromising accuracy. Traceable accuracy is recommended if used in a professional environment. These thermometers have variable measurement ranges, resolutions and accuracy.

K-Type Thermometers

K-Type thermometers deal with extreme temperatures and are normally found in laboratories and industry. They cater for applications requiring high precision, and can facilitate a range of interchangeable plug in probes for air, liquid, penetration and surface temperature measurements. They’re often the best choice of thermometer if you have several applications in one professional environment. They offer wide temperature measurement ranges, high accuracy, and fast measurement response times. Non-slip function buttons and impact-resistant casing make these thermometers ideal for use in harsh working environments. Probes will vary in size, material, and manoeuvrability, and traceable accuracy is recommended if used in a professional environment. These thermometers have variable measurement ranges, resolutions and accuracy.

Data Logging Thermometers

Data logging thermometers allow continuous temperature measurements to be displayed in real-time, or downloaded and stored to PCs or Laptop computers. They are designed to record temperature history in critical areas such as storage rooms, transportation, and laboratories, and are ideal if you’d like to submit regular records to management, auditors, or work colleagues. The recorded measurements can be attached to emails or reports, and is great for fault finding or traceability in controlled environments. A user may select the logging rate, start time, alarm limits, and logging mode. The supplied analysis software provides a graphical display of data, showcasing the total readings, a zoom facility for individual readings, and a visual indication of alarm levels throughout the logging period. Traceable accuracy is recommended if used in a professional environment, and again, these thermometers have variable measurement ranges, resolutions and accuracy.

Infrared Thermometers

Infrared thermometers are designed for non-contact measurement of very high / low surface temperatures, and are frequently equipped with a laser to measure radiated heat. They are suitable for temperature measurements of air conditioning systems, transport and automotive spot checks, and food preparation surfaces. It’s not as simple to operate these thermometers as some suppliers would have you believe. It’s not point; pull the trigger, read the measurement. Important factors to consider before measuring are laser spot-size, and the emissivity value of the surface being measured. The error in the accuracy of a measured value can be as much as 30% of the reading just based on emissivity. Traceable accuracy is recommended if used in a professional environment. These thermometers have variable measurement ranges, resolutions and accuracy.

Thermal Image Cameras

Thermal image cameras allow immediate identification of hot and cold areas via thermal imagery. They are ideal for detecting hidden problems, surveying buildings to find moisture and leaks, identifying energy loss and poor insulation, electrical faults, and detecting plumbing issues. Some cameras facilitate the download of imagery to PCs or Laptop computers. The recorded data can then be attached to emails or reports, and is great for fault finding or traceability in controlled environments. Some models include a correction for emissivity and reflected temperature. Again, there will be variable measurement ranges, resolutions and accuracy.

If you can choose the thermometer best suited to your intended application, AND provide traceable instrument calibration to an auditor, you can always be assured of your measurement’s creditability. If you’re unsure of a thermometer’s suitability, always consult the help of a professional body.

This perhaps is one of the most important questions you can ask yourself when you are seeking out a business coach. The good news is that there is plenty of data out there that help you paint a full picture of who seeks a coach.

In the middle 2009 the International Coach Federation published a worldwide study on coaching. This study looked at the demographics of who chooses a coach, why they seek to coach, and what was her overall return on investment. Some of the data is quite surprising as to who chooses a coach and for what reasons.

First, let us look at who chooses a coach. The conventional wisdom is that a coach is hired by corporations to help their executives. The study discovered that it is typically the individual who seeks out a coach. These individuals tend to have university or postgraduate degrees. Many of them are in leadership positions, if they are not business owners themselves. When it comes to gender 65% who select a coach are women. This tends to make sense as more women have increasing management responsibilities in corporations and are the leading founders of small businesses.

Second, the conventional wisdom would tell you that a business coach is hired primarily by corporations. While in the past a corporation would hire a coach to curb the bad behaviors of a particular executive, it has now become a badge of honor for many executives to hire a business coach. The reasons for hiring this coach are many but if you come in ones stick out. The number one area for hiring a business coach is to improve their work performance of the executive or of their team. This was followed by improving conditions for career opportunities and improving business management or relationships.

Looking at the data clearly demonstrates that those individuals and companies seeking on a coach realized that interpersonal or “soft” skills that are important to successfully take advantage of any business or career opportunities. Business coaching helps transfer the important fundamentals necessary to have their clients achieve these goals. Coaches are seen as delivering action plans that deliver value as opposed to an “on the couch” process. Unlike therapy or other methodologies, business coaching is a contractual relationship. Sessions last an hour in duration and the business coaching relationship is typically under six months. This appeals to the business owner and the busy executive who must juggle multiple responsibilities.

The business coach is no longer seen as a stigma or a stain on a permanent record. Establishing a business coaching relationship is seen more as a badge of honor and pride for many business owners and executives. As shown above the use of a business coach is not the exclusive province of large Fortune 500 companies. Instead it is a tool for the individual who wishes to exceed their current position and achieve new goals. It is a small business owner and individuals that are seeking a business coach.

Theme-based kitty parties are far more entertaining than the non-themed kitty parties. They make the parties more fun-filled and exciting! In a non-themed kitty party, you can at best sit with your friends, do some gossips, have some snacks and maybe play a few games but kitty party themes can give you and your friends a special feel.

Party themes give you a chance to try something new, something that you don’t usually do such as, wearing a special type of dress, putting on theme-based jewelries, having a unique room decor and of course theme-based foods and games. Alongside fun, the kitty party themes can also offer you a great learning experience as each time, you get to know more about a particular culture.

So if you are really excited about hosting a theme-based kitty party, give the very exciting Tapori Theme a go! You can’t even imagine how amazing the party will be if you can perfectly get into the tapori mood.

Tapori Themed Kitty Party

There are very few people in India who haven’t ever heard the tapori language, especially those who have watched the movies of 80s and 90s. You must have noticed Anil Kapoor in movies like Mashaal and Karma – the way he dressed and uttered the typical tapori language, and these are certain things that you need to imitate a little bit to create the aura for your tapori-themed kitty party.

Dress Code

The dress code for this party theme can be knotted shirts, baggy denims, caps, scarfs around the neck, goggles and may be some dark brown jacket. You can wear golden chains around your neck and wrist and put kajal in your eyes.

The Language

What can be more apt than welcoming your guests in a cool tapori style like, “Kya boss! time khoti nai karne ka… party shuru karne ka..kya?” Exciting, isn’t it? Here are a few common tapori dialogue that you can learn to bring out the tapori inside you!

Aaila! – Oh God!

Do kya kharcha pani – Should I beat you up?

Fultoo – Too good

Hataa saawan ki ghataa – I don’t care

Khopche – a hidden/secret place

Waat – Trouble

Ek cutting chaai le aa – Get me half a glass of tea.

Boss – term often used to address a friend.

Chotey – a kid working at a roadside shop.

Kaiko – Why

Der futiya – a short person

The Food

When it comes to food for a tapori themed party, nothing fits better than the street foods of India. You can include items like Pao Bhaji, Vada Pao, Pani Puri, Bhel Puri, Ragda Peti, Cholle Bhaturey and Thadaai. These are some of the most popular street foods that can drive anyone crazy with their colours and flavours.

You can include games like “Tapori Words Collection” wherein, all the ladies will be given pen and paper and 60 seconds time to write as many tapori words or phrases as they can remember. The winner will be the lady or the team (if you make two teams) who can write maximum numbers of tapori words. You can organize a dance competition and make the ladies dance like a tapori. The best dancer will be the proud winner! And yes, do not forget to play some popular tapori songs like “Apun bola, tu meri laila”, “Dilbara, apun ki tu, apun tera”, “M bole to… Munnabhaai”, etc.

There are many more kitty party themes such as Safari Theme, Childhood Theme, Rockstar Theme, etc. that you must try at different kitty sessions. You will be, undoubtedly, one of the most sought after party hosts in the town for sure! So get ready to amaze your guests this time. Boley to… Samjha kya Maamu?

Computer processors or central processing units (CPUs) are what execute programs on computers. A powerful CPU can get more things done than a slower processor. There are two leading CPU manufacturers in today’s computer market: AMD and Intel. Both are pretty popular with a large following so it is a difficult decision to prefer one over the other. Some factors that are helpful to consider when comparing the two large brands are price, performance, life span, and overclocking potential.

* Price

Price differences between Intel and AMD are constantly fluctuating so this can only be a reliable factor to consider if you are actively following computer trends and developments. Every time a new CPU technology is discovered and introduced by either Intel or AMD, the prices of the previous generation of their processors go down. Price battles between Intel and AMD are as much technology wars on who gets to develop a better and improved CPU first.

* Performance

CPU performance largely depends on the generation of the processor. There was a time when AMD ruled the PC gaming niche and offered more value for the dollar. Ever since Intel released the Core 2 Duo processor, however, the company has been offering faster and more stable processors than AMD at very affordable rates. Intel is currently king when it comes to high-performance CPUs, especially with its newest technology: the Quad Core technology. AMD still offers high-performance CPUs but they are usually more expensive than their Intel counterparts. This could change in the near future.

* Life Span

AMD processors usually build up a lot of heat when performing intensive user applications like games and multiple graphics software. Oftentimes, standard cooling features are not enough to protect AMD processors from damage due to overheating. Intel’s Core 2 Duo line of CPUs, on the other hand, show remarkable tolerance to heat even with a standard heat sink and fan. Nonetheless, if overheated, processors from both AMD and Intel can be damaged beyond repair. The life span of a CPU is not really such a big issue since the average computer user generally upgrades his or her computer every three or so years.

* Overclocking Potential

Only hardcore gamers and heavy multimedia users can relate with CPU overclocking. Overclocking involves running the CPU at speeds greater than its specifications. For example, it is possible to overclock Intel’s E6600 from 2.4GHz to 3.2GHz. That is a whopping speed increment of 800MHz! Generally speaking, overclocking a CPU can increase overall system performance. For now, many Intel processors have greater overclocking potential than AMD processors.

As mentioned before, you have to keep up with the latest updates from Intel and AMD to get the best processor in the market. The moment either CPU manufacturers release a new product, you can expect a big drop in the prices of the displaced line of CPUs.

There are a lot of things to consider when you are shopping for that laptop, the two most important specifications but are going to be your processor and your RAM. Here I am going to explain some of the fundamental features of both so you can make a better choice when buying a laptop for yourself.

Intel the world's largest semi conductor maker has initiated the process of transitioning into a quad core line of processors. Their range is branded as Core i3, i5 and i7. If you are hunting for a bargain then you could choose its older Core 2 models, but you would be better off sticking to its latest range.

You could also consider a processor from Intel rival AMD which has a qualifying range of products branded as Turion II and Athlon II. If you are a budget shopper then these processes are well worth considering and will serve the purpose for most tasks. The big difference between processors made by AMD is they are simply not as fast as those made by Intel and they tend to act as a drain on battery life.

The most important task is working out exactly how much processing power you need. In general the Core i3 or i5 are suitable for most people. If however you do a lot of video editing then you are going to need a more powerful processor. Gamers in particular believe they need a powerful processor but in practice can actually get away with a slower chip.

Quad core chips still cost a lot and also tend to drain battery life quite quickly. You can identify a quad core chip by the Q denoted next to the machine's model number. If you use your laptop as your main machine, and not taking it out on the road, or you are a gamer or video editor, the quad chip case becomes more compelling.

The decision over processor gets trickier when you are ordering a custom laptop from a manufacturer. You should as a rule avoid the most expensive chipsets on offer and go for the second or third third least costliest chips. The increase in price is usually proportional to performance. You should not spend more than $ 150 upgrading a processor. If you are simply surfing the internet or word processing, even a dual core processor is more than adequate.

4GB RAM is the standard memory offered by most manufacturers even on low end laptops and that is really all you need. Starting prices for a laptop with 4GB RAM are just under $ 500. In the past manufacturers used to make consumers pay through the nose when they upgraded the memory whilst custom ordering. More recently, this practice seems to have changed, and only Apple really still does this.

If upgrading your memory to 4GB costs you less than $ 90, which is what it costs separately, then you should definitely upgrade. Upgrading beyond 4GB is going to be expensive, and the only real reason to do it is if you are video editing, and even then it's still not absolutely necessary when you compare it against the expense. For a desktop, spending an additional $ 100 is no big deal, but for a laptop where it is going to cost you an additional $ 300 for 8GB, it's simply not worth it unless your laptop is your primary video editing device.

One of the goals of a Hotel Sales Manager is to get clients to come for Site Inspections and tour the hotel with you. Once you get the commitment, get ready to do some work. When I get a commitment to come for a tour – with a date and time, the first thing I do is make a list of questions and decide on what I want to get out of the appointment.

From there I Google their organization and surf through their pages to get an idea who they are. This knowledge is also good to get for when they do come so you have something to talk about that is in their interest. What are they coming for? Some will come to tour before they sign a booking agreement. Others for future business.

When I get an inquiry, lets just say for a wedding block, I always invite them out and I make time for them. Most hotel sales people won’t just ask them to come and meet with them. They would rather quote a rate, hang up, then shoot out an email. This is not “WOWING” the caller.

When you are sincere and welcome them to your “home” you will have a much better chance to book them. Always invite them to take a site inspection of your hotel. Not to mention that your General Manager will keep seeing you on tours. This looks good for you.

From there I route a Site Inspection Form noting their information and how much I feel the client is worth. The day before I always call to confirm the appointment. I do not email them, I call. This shows that yes, I do have time for you. I think the clients like it better.

On inspection day, I will then choose the rooms that I want to show. To be sure I don’t have any surprises, I walk the route that I am going to take with them to pick up any trash or to get something done before they arrive. And I take the time to inspect my rooms. If I don’t like them, I pick more and keep checking until I find what I am looking for.

On a good day it may only take me 15 minutes to find a good room, and I always find something that I don’t like that must be taken care of. On a bad day I have taken over an hour to find the perfect room and the perfect walk through path. Based on occupancy the night before, I don’t always get the best pickings of the rooms.

I recommend getting show rooms if possible. A show room should look perfect. As perfect as the room looked when it first opened. It should smell good too. I must say that if I’m not happy with the show rooms that my Management Team picks out, I always bring it up at the next Staff Meeting.

We put the show rooms in an out of order status but we sell them if we have to. We try to keep our show rooms out of order but with the past hurricanes and bad weather, we are running pretty good on occupancy so they have to use them. We are an Airport Property with many “distressed passengers” and airline crews.

If you do have show rooms, don’t add a bunch of extra items, flowers etc., that are not in all of the guestrooms. Show them a clean, clean smelling and fresh room. Don’t fudge too much. During the site inspection, I have a list ready for the client with my questions and I tell the client that I have questions for them. Then I ask approval to take notes.

Once they leave, I make it a priority to get the proposal or contract done to get it to them as fast as possible. Clients are impressed when they get their paperwork shortly after they left the property. It shows that YOU the Hotel Sales Manager is interested in a partnership and that you will be committed to them and hopefully them to you.

When you are printing using the ‘Multi-purpose’ Tray and the machine detects that there is no paper or it has been improperly loaded, follow the steps

Check if the sheet is caught in the feeding area, if so grip it with both hands and gently and slowly pull it toward you.

If you cannot find the jammed sheet, or if there is any resistance removing the sheet, stop pulling, close the multi-purpose tray and go to step two.

Remove the paper tray from the machine and lay on a flat surface

When removing the paper tray always keep the tray horizontal until it has been cleared

from the machine. Failure to do so can result in dislodging the tray sensor.

Release and lift the ‘inner cover’ by pushing the two green levers.

With the ‘inner cover’ in the raised position, grip the sheet evenly and gently pull until it is clear of the tray.

Lower the ‘inner cover’ until it clicks back into place.

Replace the tray back into the machine, ensuring that the tray is kept horizontal.

If you cannot find any jammed paper in this area, go to step four.

Paper Feed Area

If a jam is in the feed area; follow the next steps to release the jammed paper.

IMPORTANT – The four OPC’s [green imaging rollers] are light sensitive and will be affected when exposed to light. DO NOT keep the front door open for extend time.

Using the handle open the front door and lower until it is completely open.

Jammed paper in this area should be protruding from under one of the green imaging rollers.

Grip the sheet evenly on both edges and remove by gently pulling. It is important to avoid tearing it so remove carefully and slowly.

IMPORTANT – Do NOT rush the removal of jammed paper. It is important not to tear the paper so as to leave hard to retrieve paper Fragments.

Close the door firmly and the machine will resume printing.

If you cannot find the jammed paper or if there is any resistance removing paper, stop pulling and go to Step Five. Rollers are light sensitive!

Close the front door.

Remove the paper tray. [Keep tray horizontal when removing]

A jam in this area will become visible when the tray is removed, gently pull it straight out.

Align paper tray with the slot and slide back into the machine.

Open the front cover [door] and close it. The machine will resume printing.

Fuser Area

If paper is jammed in the fuser unit area, follow the next steps to release the jammed paper.

The Fuser is hot, when removing jammed paper from this area exercise caution and allow the machine to cool for approximately 5 minutes.

Lift up the top cover until it is fully extended. [Note: Clearing jams in this area are also covered by the decal under the cover]

Open the inner cover by using the handle.

With the ‘inner cover’ raised, the fuser assembly becomes visible. The Fuser will be hot, observe high temperature warning label.

Raise the cover over the Fuser and lift the two green ‘paper jam levers’ that sit at either end.

Raising the ‘paper jam levers’ releases pressure on any jammed paper in this area.

Any paper jammed in the Fuser will become visible, carefully remove taking care not to tear and leave any paper fragments in the fuser.

Return both green levers to their operating position

IMPORTANT – Any fragments of paper left in any of the ‘paper jam areas’ will result in the Jam Message re-occurring when machine is switched back on. If there is no paper jammed in this area, follow step seven

Paper Exit Area

If paper is jammed in the paper exit area, follow the next steps to release the jammed paper.

The ‘paper exit area’ is that part of the machine where copied/printed paper exits the machine.

If a long portion of the paper is visible from the front of the exit area, pull it straight out.

Open and close front door firmly and the machine will resume printing. If there is no paper jammed paper in this area or there is any resistance to removing paper, stop pulling and go to next procedure.

Open the top cover/scan unit.

The paper exits into the paper tray from underneath the cover of the ‘reverse unit’.

Open the cover of the ‘reverse unit’ using the handle on it.

Carefully remove the jammed paper out of the paper exit path.

If there is any resistance in removing the paper or difficulty gripping the paper, stop pulling and turn the green ‘release wheel’ to remove any caught paper.

Close the cover of the ‘reverse unit’. If you cannot find the jammed paper in the exit path, or there is resistance stopping pulling and go to the next step.

At the rear of the machine, lower the door.

If paper is visible remove and check for paper which may be jammed in other parts of the machine. • When all paper has been removed, close rear door and resume printing.
